Sweet Home Bama

Friday, March, 28, 2008

It’s official. I’m an Alabama resident as of yesterday. Nearly 5 hours in the DMV and 3 whole magazines later, I now have an awful driver’s license picture in hand to document the affair, and mark me a legal ‘Baman. It was an emotional goodbye as I laid to rest my Georgia I.D. card, but at least they let me keep it. I’m pretty sentimental, you know. To be frank, I nearly had a cryfest when I removed my plate this morning and screwed the “Stars Fell On...” into the crooked back bumper of my Danger Ranger truck. I literally glanced over my shoulder three times as I walked away from it in the parking lot this morning. It’s fo’ real. Don’t be mistaken, I’m thrilled to be here. It’s just the whole reality that my life is not what it was a year ago, and it will continue to metamorphsize (sp?). I’m glad this is where my new beginnings begin.

Do you realize that your quote is cut off on the skirt! Birmingham Home Page? The last sentance says "I now have an awful driver's lice " Have you tried switching shampoos and maybe wearing a hat?

Welcome to Birmingham, Cory! The word you're looking for is "metamorphose," as in "to change," although the nonstandard "metamorphosize" is gaining in popularity.
