I am a Feminist because…

“…I love my daughters, mother, grandmothers, sister, nieces, cousins, girlfriends and students, because I love myself. I’m a feminist because I love men too—and know how much they hurt, being in a world that doesn’t love women. I’m a feminist because I simply see no other choice.”

Linda Frost is a former English professor at UAB where she specialized in 19^th Century American literature and culture, women’s studies and creative writing. In 2001, she started PMS (poemmemoirstory), a women’s literary journal, of which she served as editor for seven years.
