I heard a story recently that due to the economy people are becoming even more self-centered, selfish, and with the attitude “look out for #1”.
A few weekends ago I was shopping out of town. I tried on a few things. When I was walking out to my car with my purchase, I felt for my earrings- a common thing for me. One of my earrings was missing. My stomach immediately started doing flips. If you’ve seen the July issue of skirt! Birmingham, you’ll know why- they are featured as my skirt! love. My best friend bought these hand-made beauties, and I’d worn them almost every day since I got them.
After looking in the road, shaking out my clothes, looking in my purse and recent purchase, and tearing my car apart, I went back in the store. I looked everywhere I’d walked, shook out the clothes I’d tried on and had everyone in there looking. I was in tears. They offered to call me if they found it. I told them I lived out of town but would leave my card with every possible way to contact them. All in all, I searched for about 45 minutes.
One week later I checked my voice mail and had missed a call from the store 2 days earlier- they had found my earring. I received it in the mail 2 days ago and have barely taken them off.
How refreshing it is to know there are still good people around!
