This Saint's For You!

I picked this book up off the Urban Outfitters sale table (they were practically giving it away... and I’m a sucker for any book under $10). It was an impulse buy, but since I recently made a denomination switch, I figured I out to get to know the players.

The book is FASCINATING, and a great bedtime/lazy afternoon read. It tells the life stories of 300 patron saints, and it explains how they became the patron of their particular occupation, creature or situation.

There are surprising twists (the patron saint of contested elections is actually Saint CHAD!) and quirky turns... there are separate patron saints for animals, birds and blackbirds. There’s even a patron saint for con artists!
